Many of the stars from the music industry are putting their foot down on the latest, senseless life lost to the hands of police in that of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Chris Brown went as far as writing and releasing a song to highlight the injustice and struggles. Beyonce released a message on her website tagging Congressmen, which forced contactingthecongress.org to crash. Obama has made multiple statements as well. Kanye West went a direct and simple route tweeting the very graphic video of the shooting. Rihanna tweeted video of an angry mother’s response to the violence.
Here are some snippets and below are the full statements:
Drake: “This is real and I’m concerned. I’m concerned for the safety of my family, my friends and any human being that could fall victim to this pattern.”
Beyonce: “We don’t need sympathy, we need everyone to respect our lives.”
Justin Timberlake: “This IS systemic. We MUST DO BETTER.”
