Marilyn Manson, Madonna, YG, Chance the Rapper & Others Take Varying Paths to Influence Voters

in Music News/The Latest by

As sad as it may sound, so many artists have a major influence in affecting who citizens vote for in our elections. Look no further than Consequence of Sound’s article today, where they noticed “Who is Taylor Swift voting for?” being the most searched result on Google at one point today. Sigh. Props to Taylor Swift for allowing people to think for themselves and simply encouraging people to vote.

Chance the Rapper performed a free show in Grant Park, Chicago, last night and then led a parade of thousands of youngsters to the polls to vote.

A lot of other artists went a different route. So, let’s start with the crazy. Marilyn Manson posted a new video where he beheads Donald Trump around the 1:00 mark.

Madonna went a tamer route and played a surprise show in NYC (Washington Square Park) in support of Hillary:

YG encouraged Compton citizens to rock the vote with free “Fuck Trump” bagels.

Noted Donald Trump hater YG has teamed up with his non-profit organization 4 Hundred Waze and Los Angeles-based food truck Yeastie Boys for a special election day event. They have conceived a bagel called the “Fuck Donald Trump.” It is hand-rolled and dyed red. YG and his team are handing out hundreds of these bad boys this morning in Compton to encourage citizens to rock the vote.

Stevie Wonder compared Donald Trump’s competence to that of him being an ambulance driver

Stevie: “If you had an emergency situation and needed to go to the hospital, and you had to get there right away, would you want me driving your car?” he asked last week, to which a Philly.com reporter replied “no.” Wonder continued, “Because I’m not an experienced driver, right?”

50 Cent led an IG prayer against the Donald.

Let us pray, lord please don’t let Trump into office. We will spin out of control.
